Not to be considered a "Resort CG". Some sites are less than level. Very nice area and well kept CG. Park Rangers and Volunteers very helpful. Bugs are the worst thing that keeps you from enjoying this State Park. To get away from the bugs, pack a lunch, lounge and book and go to the tip of the island and set under the picnic area and enjoy the view of the river. The wind is very forceful and hard on your awning.

Very convenient park. Easily located. Friendly park people willing to help. Some highway noise. Near I-4 You are fitted in with stationary TT's and Park models. Would be good for a winter stay. Snowbirds. Used because the park is near National RV Warranty Center.

We have stayed at Paradise Lake 4 times in the past 3 years. The Campground in on GA route 82 and easy in and out. The owner and Host are very friendly people. They bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable. No shade and about 7 miles from Tifton, GA. The country atmosphere is lost when you leave the park. All of the convenience stores are non-American and you think you are in another country. Gas however was the cheapest we had see all year. $2.38 a gallon. It took three weeks for the prices in Florida to come down anywhere near that. Being next to a busy highway, Makes the noise level a little distracting. Nice place!

I gave Tall Pines a 4 rating because they have full hookups available w/50amp. That's worth a few points. Good for a one night stand. Next to I-95 and cheap. They have a few live-ins, but as long as you ignore them, they don't bother you. I fed the hungry cat, but did not see the horses. I was told this stay that new owners had taken over, but they still have a way to go. Much better than the Passport America park out side Brunswick, GA. I would rate them, but they were full and would not honor my reservations. I did stay there several years ago. Do not go into their restrooms. I-95 in Georgia does not have Passport America friendly parks.

Very nice COE park. Super nice Hosts making our stay a pleasant one. Stayed there 5 days. All facilities are near by in Anderson, SC. Clemson University was also interesting place to visit. Most sites are on the water with abundance of shade. Very quiet except for the Jet ski's and big power boats. You prayed for early sunsets (beautiful) to regain quietness.

Stayed at this campground twice this summer. The Hosts were outstanding and the park was excellent. Water levels were very low. We saw plenty of wild life in and around the camp site. Outside facilities were very scant. You have to travel 15 mile to a grocery store. Very quiet and friendly park.

This a border line rustic campground. We stayed here because the Foxes Den Campground (Cosby,TN) was not as convenient. Single washer/dryer. some shade and a good shot for satellite TV reception. Many nice mom-pop restaurants near by. Wonderful real country cooking. Newport,TN supplied us with a Super Walmart and other facilities plus a Catholic Church on the hill. All views of the Great Smokies were breathtaking. The park host did a nice job keeping the Campground Mowed. (Side note) the Camp Ground cat will talk and chatter up a storm, but don't get too friendly. He will become unfriendly very quickly. He spends his evenings fighting The coons.

It is my opinion that when you set out on a limited budget (retired) and us PA, you can't be overly selective. If you can afford $35.00 per night, go for the best. The Foxes Den is located next to a very busy 2 lane rural highway. Could easily pass for the Daytona 500. There are several level sites and pull-throughs. Several live-ins that have children that roam the park. Mostly friendly. We stayed here for 10 days and it rained 8 days. Nothing ever dried out. If you take a spin up the road to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, you would think you were in the Olympia National Park in Washington State. The sites are as rustic and damp and moldy as any park we have ever driven through. Back to the Foxes Den, The owners are super friendly and helpful. We stayed long enough to find a piece of property and left. Our plans are to move there (Tennessee) and full time in the winter in Texas. The owners are a venturous couple that have their hands full. So, give them a wider birth and an "E" for effort.

My comments about this campground may be obsolete and I hope they have upgraded their act. They would not honor my reservations (passport America) claimed they were full and wanted full price. I would not pay the full price to stay there. It appears their interest in the on-site restaurant was of greater importance than the Campground. Don't use their restrooms.

We have to this campground several times in the past and considered it our most favorite place to lite. Beautiful setting, good groceries and friendly people. We have not been there since the previous owner sold it to a couple from Paris Texas. They have limited Passport America stays which prevents us from traveling that far to stay just 2 days at a discount. Mark would allow unlimited stays. All you had to do was help with the grass mowing and be there at "Happy Hour" and cookouts. If anyone has been there since the new owners, Please advise as to what it like now.
